We all want to look our best, but with a house to run and kids to look after, spending time and money on ourselves is often pushed to the bottom of the list. But, we've got some good news for you! By simply adding certain foods into your diet, you could have a huge impact on the quality of your hair, nails and skin. Interested? We thought so!
Cranberries
Sparkling teeth: We love a cranberry cheesecake but eating these berries on their own has way more benefits - it can help you get that killer smile you want! Cranberries contain compounds that prevent bacteria from sticking to teeth and gums so get eating and you'll have sparkling teeth in no time.
Tip: Don't substitute eating the berries for drinking cranberry juice as it's full of unwanted sugar which actually destroys the tooth enamel.\
Oily fish
Healthy scalp: A dry scalp is annoying and painful, plus it doesn't look that great. But, we've got the solution - oily fish, like salmon. Full of Omega-3, fatty acids, vitamin B12 and iron, it helps maintain a healthy scalp (and makes for a nice fish dinner, too).
Tip: If you're vegetarian you can get your much-needed dose of Omega-3 from flaxseed.
Poultry
Long hair: Feel like your hair has just stopped growing? Well to help the hair to continue to grow, your body needs plenty of protein and chicken and turkey are great sources of it - roast dinner this Sunday then?
Tip: Make sure you're getting your hair cut regularly too, as this will help keep it healthy and it will therefore grow faster.
Acai berries
Clear pores: Deep red foods like acai and pomegranates are full of powerful antioxidants which help maintain blood flow to the skin. This blood flow promotes maximum cell turnover to keep your pores clear, leaving you looking fresh-faced.
Tip: Try pomegranate seeds in salads as an easy way of getting them into your diet.
Red cabbage
Anti-wrinkle: Red cabbage is high in antioxidants - so as well as having cancer-preventing properties, it can keep wrinkles at bay too.
Tip: Red cabbage is also packed full of vitamin C which gives our skin a healthy glow.
